Richard Claus received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University in 1977. For more than 30 years, he served on the engineering faculty at Virginia Tech, where he taught EE, materials science and chemistry, and most recently held the Lewis A. Hester Chair of Engineering. He has published more than 1,000 journal and conference papers and 30 issued patents related to electronic and optical materials, transducer devices and instrumentation systems. Claus left Virginia Tech in January 2007 to work full-time at NanoSonic.Customers
